How We Get That Flawless Factory Look

Our Installation Process Explained

Applying window film so it looks like it came from the factory is an art. It requires patience, a steady hand, and a clean environment.

Here’s how we get that flawless look every time:

  1. Thorough Cleaning: We obsessively clean the inside and outside of the windows. We work in a climate-controlled shop to minimize airborne contaminants, as even a single speck of dust can create a bubble.
  2. Precise Cutting: We use a computer plotter to precisely cut the film pattern to your vehicle’s specific make and model. This means we never have to cut on your car’s glass.
  3. Perfect Positioning: We apply a special solution to the glass and the film, which allows us to slide the film into the perfect position.
  4. Flawless Application: Using specialized squeegees, we carefully push all the solution and air out from under the film. This creates a strong, bubble-free bond with the glass.
  5. Finishing Touches: We finish by heat-shrinking the edges to ensure a perfect fit that won't peel. The result is a seamless look with no gaps or imperfections.

Finding the Perfect Match for Your Style and Needs

Choosing the Right Shade of Tint

GET A FREE ESTIMATE

Window tint comes in various shades, measured by the percentage of visible light transmission (VLT). A lower percentage means a darker tint. For example, a 5% tint is very dark, while a 50% tint is much lighter. Kentucky law has specific regulations on how dark you can tint your windows, and we are experts on these rules. We will help you navigate the legal limits for your front, back, and rear windows.

We offer several types of film to suit your needs, including standard dyed films for a classic look and carbon or ceramic films for superior heat rejection without interfering with electronic signals like your phone or GPS. During your consultation, we can show you samples of different shades and types of film, helping you choose the perfect option that provides the look and performance you want while staying fully compliant with state laws. We’re here to give you all the information you need to make a great choice.

Frequently Asked Questions About Window Tinting

  • Is window tinting legal in Kentucky?

Yes, but there are rules. For passenger cars, the front side windows must allow more than 35% of light in. The back side windows and rear window must allow more than 18% of light in. We are fully versed in these laws and will ensure your installation is 100% legal.

  • How long does it take to tint my car windows?

The process usually takes between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the type of vehicle. A two door coupe will be faster than a large SUV with more windows. We take our time to ensure a perfect installation.

  • Why does my new tint look hazy or have bubbles?

It is normal for new tint to have a slightly hazy appearance or small water pockets for a few days after installation. This is part of the curing process as the remaining application solution evaporates. It will clear up on its own as the film fully dries, which can take several days depending on the weather. We’ll ask you to not roll down your windows for a few days to help with this.

  • How long will my window tint last?

We use professional grade films that are designed to last for many years without fading, bubbling, or turning purple. The lifespan of your tint depends on the quality of the film and exposure to sunlight, but you can expect it to look great for the life of your vehicle.

  • How do I clean my tinted windows?

It’s simple. Just use an ammonia free glass cleaner and a soft microfiber towel. Avoid using any abrasive materials, scrapers, or cleaners that contain ammonia, as they can damage the film over time.

  • Can you remove old, bad window tint?

Absolutely. If your current tint is peeling, bubbling, or has turned purple, we can safely remove it. Our process involves using steam and specialized solutions to break down the adhesive without damaging your glass or rear defroster lines. We can then prepare the surface for a fresh, professional installation.
